IA9100:2026

Are you ready for IA9100:2026?

This IA9100:2026 Transition Plan provides a comprehensive, structured roadmap to guide the organization through the full transition from its current Quality Management System (QMS) — certified against AS9100 Rev D — to the requirements of IA9100:2026, the newly harmonized International Aerospace Quality Management System standard published by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG).

The transition addresses the rebranding from regional designations (AS9100, EN 9100, JISQ 9100) to a single unified global standard, as well as the substantive technical and process changes introduced by IA9100:2026 in alignment with ISO 9001:2026.

The plan is organized around four critical pillars that together constitute a complete and auditable transition program:

(1) Process Workflow Review, which maps all existing QMS processes to IA9100:2026 clause requirements and identifies workflow changes;

(2) KPI Review, which evaluates current performance indicators for alignment with the new standard’s objectives and customer requirements;

(3) Gap Assessment, which provides a clause-by-clause analysis of the organization’s current conformance state against IA9100:2026, with prioritized remediation actions, and;

(4) Internal Audit Preparation, which establishes the audit program, schedule, checklist framework, and pre-certification readiness plan necessary to verify conformance before and during the certification audit.

The IA9100:2026 transition window, per IAQG guidance, extends through late 2028 to late 2029. Organizations that begin structured transition activities in 2026 will be best positioned to achieve early certification, maintain customer approvals, and realize the operational benefits of the standard’s new requirements — particularly in the areas of cybersecurity integration, enhanced supplier oversight, product safety formalization, and risk-based thinking.
